Picture from SAMBO Tournament Wins the Grand Prix of International Photo Contest
There are so many bright moments in SAMBO, and they are so hard to capture! Excitement, dynamics, speed… The perspective changes in a split second. Not every photographer can make quality (not saying artistic) shots of a bout. However Alexander Terentyev managed to do that.
Alexander is a participant of Russian and German charitable rehabilitation project "We Live on Earth" guided by Yuri Khramov. The team of the project is a unique one. Teenagers who do real art under the guidance of professional photographer Yuri Khramov have just recovered after serious diseases, and some are still on their way to the victory in these hardships.
In March, those boys and girls visited A.A. Kharlampiev Memorial at the invitation of FIAS and with the support of the All-Russian SAMBO Federation. They were capturing the bouts from various angles, experimenting and searching for interesting moments. They were creating! And now, we have learnt that a photo made by Sasha Terentyev at our tournament won the Grand Prix of the II International Children's Photo Contest for Equal Opportunities "The World through Children's Eyes" in the nomination "Sport". His award was the invitation to shoot at the Paralympic Games in London!
"For Sasha, it is a deserved victory. He is one of the best photographers in our project, especially when he's not lazy," - smiles Yuri Khramov, the teacher of the young photographer.
"We pay a lot of attention to healthy and strong children but often forget about those who is not ready to meet those requirements," - said Sergei Tabakov, Executive Director of FIAS. - "I am grateful to the leaders of the project "We Live on Earth" for their initiative, and I do hope that our cooperation will continue in the future. I am happy to congratulate our champion on the deserved award and I wish him new creative achievements."
FIAS heartily congratulates Alexander and the entire team of the project "We Live on Earth" and invites the kids to come and see the SAMBO competitions again!
